Being involved in a singing ministry, you have a lot of people who ask you about a lot of things. Many times people ask about how they can serve Christ in their own communities. Sure, we hear the occasional excuses about not having any talent, being shy, or not being able to talk very well.

Boy, did I have a good answer for a few of those questions!

In 1 Corinthians 12:5 Paul says:

5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

So, it doesn’t matter if you wash dishes, pick up trash, preach the word, or even teach a Sunday school class; we are all still serving the same Lord.

I was talking with a worker at our local grocery store the other day, and wouldn’t you know, he was a fellow believer. When the two of us started talking, I could see a different expression come across his face when we started talking about Jesus and all that he has done for us. This man was so excited about everything that God was doing in his life that he shared with excitement different things that he had been thankful for and how much God has helped him through.

Believe it or not, this man was serving the Lord. He didn’t know that I needed some words of encouragement that day, but God used him as a messenger to help me.

So no matter what you do, always serve the Lord.

You never know whose life you’ll touch.

How are you serving the Lord?

Pray and ask God to show you where he would have you to serve Him!
